The MTA is a New York institution vital to the city's success. But, it's stuck in the past and its riders have lost appreciation for this New York cornerstone.
The symbol is derived from a pentagon, representing the connection of New York's five boroughs. The symbol is divided into five pieces, signifying the five entities controlled by the MTA: Subway, Buses, Tunnels & Bridges, Metro-North, and the LIRR.
